I was thinking we could have a thread where we talk about the gear we're anticipating owning or simply wishing we could get our hands on, even if it's currently out of reach. I decided to post this in the Advice category because I thought we might all have suggestions re: other people's lists.

My next three probable purchases have already been in discussions on this board:

SVS AS-EQ1 subwoofer EQ

Outlaw Audio Model 997 pre-pro

OPPO BDP-83 Blu-ray Disc Player

Besides these additions to my main system, I'm also wanting a dedicated 2(.1)-channel music system. Of course, I'm very interested in the Linkwitz Lab Orion(++). Besides that, one of the first high-end pair of speakers I heard were the Anthony Gallo Nucleus Reference 3s, which were very open and smooth. I would like to hear them again sometime, now that I have a system I'm pretty pleased with. I know that I want something other than Axioms for my music system, simply to have some variety, but I don't know when I'll want to make that investment. In the meantime, I'll have plenty of good listening with what I have.

I'm very curious about other subwoofers. I'll probably end up trying the HSU ULS-15 at some point, as well as something by Elemental Designs, just to hear what Axiom is competing with.

What about the rest of you? What are the products currently in your sights?

Axiom's 2 or 8 channel amp or similar by other manufacturer for no other reason than I want one.

50"+ flat screen TV.

Bigger air compressor for the garage.

Since I am not an owner - the obvious is the Axiom Epic 60 5.1 500 system in Custom Wood Clothing. Beyond that, I would say a pair of Swarovski 8x42 EL binoculars. With those, I think I could OWN that Japanese game show......

I'd still like to try to tame my bass issues by getting two subs that each reach lower than my single older-generation 350.
I don't feel the bass, and I miss that.

I'd also like to try a separate amp. While in theory I agree that all amps sound the same, I once owned a very powerful NAD separates system, and I feel that I never fully regained the dynamics I once had.

Finish my year old projector HT room project. The projector and screen are actually functional and have been used but still no painted walls and I've yet to hear 5.1 in there yet as I've just been dragging in my M60 mains to 'test'. A second sub will go in there someday also. I guess seating need to be the priority though.

My Visa is still cooling down on the HT related purchases (perhaps a second DSP3400 sub), but I'm wanting to buy a few items for my budding woodworking hobby, namely a router and biscuit joiner. I'd like to get another boat for my fishing hobby, preferably a 17 ft wide body side console, and a canoe.....thks, Santa, I live in the house on the corner with the green garage doors.

Great, now I'm stuck with that old 'bug music' tune, "Behind the Green Door" in my head. It sounds no better in my head now than it did on am radio.

You need to work on the cranial accoustics.

I want QS8s. I keep going back and forth on whether to upgrade--my QS4s aren't worth as much as I had hoped.

Not audio related but my next hobby related purchase, hopefully next week, is going to be a new Horizon offset smoker . There are a few upgrades I want to make with this so as to have exactly what I want. I'll have to order it from the factory and have it shipped here. There is no dealers in this area that sells anything close to the quality of this smoker.

Oh, great more smoked meat pictures, to drive us all to the fridge looking for something to eat.

Please don't... I can open the fridge door, but there's nothing beyond that point other than staring at the food \:\)

Yeah, help support the economy, everyone.

I won't do anything for a while. Other financial priorities.

If I had the disposable income, I'd go for a projector (although I would need a suitable house first).

I like the idea of the dual, sealed subs from Emotiva. Or maybe build a stealth Rythmik sub to go along with my existing SVS.

Big, vintage amp with meters.

Mostly what I want, though, is an invitation to Wid's house for dinner.

Wid, how to you feel about Traeger?

Tom,

I have read good things about the Traeger but have no personal experience with one. The meat locker I go to carries them. They seem to be built alright but the steel they are made with seems a bit thin imo. They are also pretty expensive, this same one had around 450 square inches of cooking surface and was 1k.

Then there is the pellets, from most of what is said it isn't to awful cheap either.

They are said to make some good Q and in the end that's what really matters.

P.S. You are always welcome Tom
