I haven't been around for a few weeks, so I'm sorry if someone already posted this somewhere else, but this story is too good to miss for all of you Monster-haters in the crowd. Fry's had a "see the Monster difference" display set up using non-Monster composite video cable versus Monster-HDMI cable... This is a new low, even for them (and Fry's). Jason

I had never heard of Fries until I started reading this forum and AVS. The only electronics stores around here other than BB & CC was Stereo Sound which became NOW Audio Video. It got ruined when Tweener bought them out and now we have nothing. So...I am INTERNET Man now.....which plays right into Axiom's Wheelhouse.

Buyer beware. But Transparent wire actually is better...damn it. But Zimm, even you have to admit... the difference is hard to see. But I'll take some too. I just need to wait for the ink to dry on the bills. Do you prefer any particular denomination.

Mythical cable review OK, I just read this and couldn't help but post it. Not Monster cable, but it struck me as similar. Has anyone heard of this brand?

Wow. This cable is dynamic, alive with swift and spicy transients. It has a strong midrange flavor with the perspective just slightly back of the front couple of rows.
That is some magic cable.

Yeah Dan, fortunately "cable swaps" are only "popular" among a small but vocal group of gullible audiophiles. The "excitement factor" that purportedly overwhelmed the reviewer reminds me of the reviewer whose praise for the "danceability" of a cable was greeted with derision.

Sounds like the burrito I'm going to be eating in a few minutes. Ken, you should hook your burrito up to your speakers then. You know, depending on the ionic content of the burrito, it 'could' very well carry a charge! I see a huge business here. Selling burritos for cable wire enhancements. The turn around rate due to decomposition alone would mean repeat business every 4 to 5 days. I bet the sound would be as thin as that of the ridiculous Mapleshade wires which are of such small gauge they barely carry a signal either; but this is a much better business plan for renewable income!

Disposables are almost always great business models. Making it out of burritos and audio - what's not to like?! Nice one chesseroo!

HI to all
I am new here and looking at purchasing some axioms. Came across this post and just had to share my experience. I live in Whitehorse Yukon and this exact same thing happened to me at the local Brick outlet. Sorry to say i wasn't smart enough to snap a pic. I walked out of there shakin my head. I was just window shopping and the girl working there offered to show me the demo, and i knew straight a way something was fishy cause im just dont go for the whole monster cable thing. Any way i tell this story to anyone who will listen lol.

My favorite is the instore claim I once overheard that the tighter outer wire weave allows the electrons to move "faster" thus making for snappier highs.
"Electrons you say"....."So... faster than the speed of light, you say????"

The Deaf Monk makes some great faster-than-the-speed-of-light speaker wire. Only trouble is, they keep moving forward in time so you have to replace them after every listen. Small price for such technology.

Are those cables still the levitating ones, Charles? or are they the new, rumoured Supertanium ones?

Naw, Charles; most of us legal types don't do all that well with the special theory of relativity. When the Deaf Monk's wire gets cranked up to faster than the speed of light(tough job), time will start running backwards. If you listen carefully you'll notice that the music is also playing backwards.

The music doesn't play backward, it just comes out of the cable before you press play.
Of course what happens if you decide not to press play after you hear the music start is something only the Deaf Monk can answer.

When the Deaf Monk's wire gets cranked up to faster than the speed of light(tough job), time will start running backwards. If you listen carefully you'll notice that the music is also playing backwards. I thought he actually said you would just cease to exist as the particles would lose structure at that speed? Now at "near" the speed of light the issue is relative to the observer. The observer would see the wires moving forward in time at a rapid pace, but the Monk riding on the wire would see...Elvis?...never mind, I just froze my own brain. I read a biography on Einstein and found he could explain it much better than I could remember it. Shocking, right?

Yeah, Charles; Einstein had the strange hang-up that nothing with mass could actually reach the speed of light, but Einstein never met the Deaf Monk.

At the risk (or perhaps the honor) of sounding like CV, I once had a dream that I invented a way to accelerate matter almost up to the speed of light by figuring out a way to vibrate subatomic particles so that each time they vibrated towards a powerful electromagnetic device they vibrated just a little bit farther forward than they did backwards, thus moving the object forward at near light speed.
Unfortunately I woke up just before my speech on the breakthrough that made it possible..
