Peter, I'll pay you $5 to have the girl in Tom's avatar lick her lips and wink! wink

I tried for a few minutes but there's just not enough resolution in 80x80px to make it look convincing. frown

That, or I'm just not a good enough artist.

That, or I felt bad besmirching her countenance.

I brewed yesterday. I was home sick and my ingredients arrived, so I told myself there's no time like the present. I decided to cheat this time around and used malt syrup with some grain steeping. The style is an over-bittered wheat beer meets an over-wheated pale ale. It uses 6 pounds of wheat malt extract, 1/2 pound of crystal malt, 1/2oz. Summit bittering hops, and 1oz each of Willamette and Cascade hops 10 minutes prior to the end of a 60-minute boil.

OG was 1.045, exactly what the recipe calls for.

I used Wyeast 1056 American Ale liquid yeast. I pitched @ 83°F at around 5pm. and moved it to the closet under the stairs, where the ambient temp should stay btw 74°-78°F. No action when I checked on it at 9pm, but the yeasties really woke up at some point during the night. I should have used a blowoff tube as I had quite a happy, aromatic, foamy mess bubling up and out of the airlock. Fortunately the closet is not carpeted. smile

My first 5 gallon batch is proceeding swimmingly.

Sounds yummy! I'm starting to put some thought into that Boston Cherry we joked about prior to the gtg in Dwight...

Just came back from europe. I ended up in Bruges the day the Bruge Belgian Beer festival was in town, couldn't believe it.

29 belgian beers later, Malheur was my favorite, dark or light. Belgian nectar of the gods. Gordan Scotch was a close second.

P.S. Whats with all of these animated icons? I don't like being licked.

P.P.S. Can I have one?

I'm sure getting licked by a lion would be like someone running a belt sander on you with 60 grit paper....

I can't help but think we've corrupted young Dan the same way Homer did when he gave Barney that first beer in high school.
