I need your expert knowledge. I am looking at two amps, both rated at 80 watts, but one has a higher current. What does this mean from a practical viewpoint? Is it more important to consider watts or amps?

High current is a good thing in an amplifier. It refers to the dynamic head room, which is the ability for the amplifer to play short bursts of power above its rms rated power. Both music and movies ask this of the amplifier often. It is like having more power than the rated rms power.

I now know and what a difference it makes. I purchased a pair of M3's and M60's to use with my consumer grade Kenwood. Sounded much better than before but not quite there. Now I've just added a high current Harman Kardon and it is definitely all there! Much fuller and more powerful sound. That Kenwood just didn't do your fine speakers justice.
