Hi Everyone,

I'm not really sure what I want to do...

I currently own a 8' sub that have been currently doing OK in my room that is 20x17x8. Now I feel there is something missing in the bottom end, its not like its bad, just a little more ummf will be good.

Here is the question, do I add a EP125 to the current setup and go 2 subs, or do I just go with a EP175 or EP350?

I don't really need for the sub to go really deep, I don't want to rattle foundations but need it do a good job.

This is my setup...

Axiom M60's, VP 150
Cambridge Soundworks Dipole's x4
Mirage PS8 Sub.
Pioneer Elite VSX54

Let me know what your ideas may be.

Thanks,

John

Yes, in that large a room, I think you need a bigger box (like an EP350 or similar) to get "oomph" \:\)

For that size room, I would recommend a larger more powerful sub. Once calibrated it can provide smooth, clean, low bass. Smaller subs just can't move as much air. You also could use your existing sub if you want with the new one.

Sure - I'd keep the existing sub (since it is apparently a credible performer) and perhaps place it nearfield. That way, you can flatten the frequency response among multiple positions AND also provide greater overall SPL.

OK, so keep the old sub and use it for rear sound stage, now for the front, the EP350 is a little pricey and large, can the EP175 do the trick? Or should I look elsewhere, or is the EP350 the better option.

what is your budget? The factory outlet will save you 10%. For that room, you need larger sub(s). I have a 600 and 2 350's in my room.

How big is your room to warrant 3 subs? My budget is currently $500 Canadian.

I wouldn't bother buying another sub for your application until you can spend a little more.
