...donate books. I think it turns them on.

I cleaned out my bookshelf, and donated leftover books that were not barnes-and-noble buyback-able.

I mean, its not like I wanted to date a librarian chick. However, by induction almost all librarians would get turned on based on what happened to me.

I go up to the desk and say "If I were to donate books, where would I do that"

Immediately, the lady like, drops everything and goes "Ohhh you can do that right here. You came to the right place, oh, let me help you, thank you thank you." etc etc...

I mean...it's just a stack of books.

I think I might have had to remind her that I was 15 years younger than her...

However, for you desperate single souls out there (CV?), you should probably employ this strategy when you almost reach your 30's because, any young hot chick working there probably has it as a temporary job, and won't care. On the contrary, the older ones have advanced themselves well into the "librarian profession" and thus will actually get turned on by your book donation.

So to those those looking for love and those not looking for love, use caution. Or, just don't donate books.

I'm very, very desperate.

I've actually been thinking about donating books to the library. They're currently reconstructing it, but I thought I'd start going again once it's done. I'll be sure to let you know if I get a similar response or it's just you.

Make sure you were a trench coat and don't comb your hair that day.

Put a Axiom bumper sticker across your forehead, always worked for me when hitting on librarians.

I once very briefly dated a 19 year old librarian when I was 20. She fell into the part time, didn't really care about books category. In fact, we broke up (well I don't think we were actually a couple, just went out a couple of times.)when my roommate let her into our apartment and her first hello was calling me lame for 'catching me' reading a book.

Dumb girls can be cute if it's just their bubbly personality but but being ideologically opposed to reading takes it to levels beyond my patience.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Rather than assuming that a joyful expression of thanks is some sort of romantic gesture, perhaps she was just happy to have someone donating books. Or even just an appreciation of someone asking her nicely about donating books, rather than just cramming them in a night-return slot with a note that says 'Free' on them. ;\) Or maybe just happy to have someone *in* the library.

My job involves books and libraries, and so I deal with librarians all over the country. So this topic is close to my heart. They are a unique group of people. It takes a special kind of person to be a 'career' librarian. But for all of them, you'd be amazed at how happy they are with donations of books. Times are very tough for a lot of libraries and librarians. Their budgets are very low-hanging fruit for a lot of states & municipalities.
