Saw the Aerosmith/ZZ Top tour in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. Going to see Paul McCartney August 1st at FedEx Field in D.C.

The Mule show was fantastic. The MN Zoo has a great outdoor amphitheater overlooking a pond with ducks, geese, and swans swimming in and out of view. Mule kicked off with "Soulshine" and never looked back. Highlights included Princes's "When Doves Cry" leading into "Beautifully Broken". A great cover of Led Zep's "Trampled Underfoot" and the last encore Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic". Warren Haynes was phenomenal on guitar-the guy plays everything with so much soul. The crowd was an interesting mix of aging hippies and young jam rockers. If any of you get a chance take in a Mule show you won't regret it.

Wid,
Well, If they all show up it will be great. ZZ played their usual set. They started right at 7:30 and played about an hour. What peaved me more than anything was the wait time between the two shows. Aerosmith didn't come on until after 9:00. They only play for about an hour and 40 minutes. They did all of Toys except "You See Me Crying" and they really nailed it. Tyler's vocal for "Dream On" were spot on. I didn't pay top price for tickets or I would have been upset at the length. Otherwise, if you are a rock fan I can't imagine you won't enjoy it

I would expect Aerosmith to play for at least two hours. I saw the set list from the tour and thought there should be a few extras thrown in (Back in the Saddle etc.). I might be giving this one a miss when they hit town in August.

I've seen them before and even if it's a bit shorter than usual I won't mind. I'm just glad they're still touring.

The shortest show I have ever seen was Merle Haggard. He only played for 45 minutes or so. Still, I was glad to have been able to see him.
