I’ve watched a few more episodes of “Caprica” and the second half of the season is becoming more of a mixed bag. Two of the story arcs are interesting and generally seem to move along at a good pace but the Amanda Graystone arc is still boring. It’s almost like each story arc has it’s own director they are often so different.

In the interesting parts the story is progressing in interesting ways, however in the boring one there’s just to much time being wasted on imagery and setup scenes that don’t really have any payoff. I’m sure I couldn’t keep watching “Caprica” if I had to sit through the whole thing but being able to skip the boring parts is keeping it alive so far.

Looks like Syfy channel is set to decide on another season by mid November. Based on what I’m seeing I wouldn’t count on it unless they just don’t have anything better in the bullpen.

I watched the first episode of the new Sherlock Holmes show on PBS. It was decent. I would watch more episodes.

South Korean movie, Mother. A mystery about a mentally challenged teen who gets accused of murder, and his overprotective mother who takes matters into her own hands to prove his innocence. VERY good movie!

I saw a couple of reviews of that. It definitely sounds interesting. I'll have to put it on my list.

I'm watching the very gradual progress on creating a volume on my new NAS (Synology DS210+). I want to start playing with all of the features, but I'm stuck because I opted to check the drives for errors. The fun will have to begin tomorrow.

Caprica has been canceled. I'm not surprised, or all that bitter. I enjoyed it, but it was a little too slow for my tasted.

Now we get to look forward to Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome.

We can only pray they won't use the young Adama actor from BSG.

I enjoyed it. It was fun. I would have liked more at the end, but it's not like great endings are a dime a dozen. It was decent. Karl Urban can do badass well enough. I'd like to see him in more lead roles. Of course, Mary-Louise Parker makes great faces. I like Helen Mirren a lot, too. Bruce Willis is Bruce Willis. Do I even need to mention him? I'm required to be a lifelong fan after all of his dorky appearances on Letterman. I can see why people call it Space Cowboys, but with spies, but I found this one much more palatable.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Halloween episode was even greater.

I've been working on Trigun. It's entertaining. Not the greatest writing ever, but still fun. I'm curious to see where it goes. It kind of puts me in the mood to hurry up and get back to Rurouni Kenshin, though.
