I know this issue has been discussed a lot, but I am about to order a set of Axioms and I need a little help in deciding which center speaker to get.

My room is 17' x 13'. It will be used almost exclusively for movie watching.

My plans are to get a pair of M22is and a pair of QS8s. I have seen that a lot of people here recommend getting the VP150 instead of the VP100. If that is the case, why do all but the really high end packages sold by axiom have the VP100?

Is the VP150 overkill for my purposes, or will I notice a difference?

I would appreciate any help with this.

-Sean

I did the same package, but got the VP150 in an 18x12 room (similar size). I like the 150, but haven't heard the 100 so can't tell you how much better it is. I don't think the 150 would be overkill for you.

I don't think the VP-150 is an overkill. I had the VP-100 and now have the VP-150, it sounds a lot better. It seems to have a warmer, more lifelike feeling. The sound is more surrounding and not directional. I felt that the VP-100 was directional, I noticed it more.

I would like to thank everyone for their help and this forum in general.

I am a home theater newbie. I have spent months researching and lurking in various forums planning my home theater. This is all done sight unseen because there are very few good places to see this level of equipment where I live.

So, yesterday, I finally pulled the trigger.

I placed an order for 2 M22ti speakers, a VP150 and 2 QS8s.

I also ordered an HSU STF-2 sub.

Finally, I ordered a Harman Kardon AVR630 receiver. The receiver was from 6th Ave Electronics for $739 shipped. I hope that is an OK deal.

Finally, I am ordering a Sanyo PLV-Z2 projector.

I have been very reluctant to pull the trigger, but I finally did it because I couldn't take it any more!

I hope I didn't make any major mistakes with the equipment I ordered! I can't wait to get everything set up for the holidays.

I can't comment on the projector or the receiver, but you can rest assured that your speakers and sub will completely amaze you. Congratulations!
