I just replaced an old rotary dimmer in the HT with a new remote controlled digital dimmer. I was very surprised that the size is much smaller and no more hum. Plus, the cool and practical benefits I get out of the remote (with custom settings for 1 mood) was well worth the $30. But, the first version died after 14 days, so I'll reserve a full endorsement until this one last more than a year.

And yes Chris, you have shaken my confidence in your advice with the whole "live wire change" act. Good way to end your "alive" days.
