Here's an update on my post, even if it didn't merit a single response. Had a chance to run-off the M2 against the Monitor Audio Bronze 1 (70 wpc rms @ 6 ohms, 88 db sensitivity, 55hz-28khz frequency response). Using a Denon 2803 & DVD 1600, listened to Nora Jones' Live in New Orleans. In my non-expert opinion, the M2 won in clarity and detail, sounding crisper and more neutral. Not surprising since these are its reported strengths. The B1, though, had more bass extension and a warmer character. Not at all unpleasant overall. (As one might expect, its big brother the B2's had a fuller and more relaxed sound.) At $175/pair, I'm going with these babies.
