Yes, I watched Changling a few weeks ago and thought it Clint's usual wonderful job. The guy can really play with your emotions. I spent the first half of the movie so outraged by her treatment that, a few times, I actually yelled at the screen stuff like " DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THAT CRAP!!!! " or "TELL HIM TO @#%& OFF!!!." Heck of a story and all the more remarkable because it actually happened.

Season 3 of Just Shoot Me on DVD. It only took them 5 years to follow up their release of seasons 1 & 2.

Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder

Futurama: What a great TV show, and what an okay series of full-length features.

I watched the first 12 acts of 美少女戦士セーラームーン, Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn or Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (PGSM). It’s the live action version of the Sailor Moon manga’s first story arc.

So far I really like it. There’s more focus on character interactions and development than in something like Power Rangers so the fighting scenes don’t dominate the show. The transformation scenes are kept reasonably short and when several girls transform at the same time they use split screen so you don’t end up watching 4 in a row. Each episode is short, 30 minutes less beginning/ending credits, and so far they’ve kept the filler to a minimum.

The only drawback for me is the subtitles. There really aren’t that many but I’m a very slow reader and have had to use the pause to keep up. Fortunately the tone of voices and body language don’t need translation so the overall meaning of what’s being said carries through even when I get behind on the reading.

The subtitles for things like signs are done very well making them blend into what’s on screen so they look natural and not distracting. There are also occasional captions explaining relevant cultural references.

The special effects are campy as is to be expected with the genre but the picture quality is really vivid. I’ve noticed this with other live action anime, Cutie Honey was the same way. While it’s only standard definition it jumps out at you like high def rather than the “softened” TV and movie pictures I’m used to here.

Overall I’m quite impressed so far and hope they can keep things from bogging down into a monster-of-the-week format now that most of the main characters are introduced.

I finally got around to watching all of Bottle Rocket on Blu-ray. I've seen the movie plenty of times, but the higher-resolution let me see a lot of new stuff in the background. I was happy with the transfer. Also, the audio sounded very natural and clear, though I didn't pay as close of attention as I could have.

I watched The Changeling yesterday with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend. Towards the end of the movie when the lawyer told the nurse at the psycho ward to "step aside" - the boyfrined added "Yeah Troll!!". May be the only funny thing that I have heard him say.......

Finished watching the last 5 parts of "Band of Brothers" over the weekend. Now it'll take me a couple of weeks to settle down from watching it. I know I shouldn't watch these types of movies because I get to emotionally envolved. It was a very tough weekend \:\(

I watched Changeling this weekend with my wife, too. It's definitely an emotional ride, well-acted, well-filmed, and gripping.
