 PS3 40 gig upgradable?

Just found a 40 gig ps3 available locally. Is it upgradable to the latest firmware, or to put it another way, is the core chipset the same as the most recent PS3s.
This might just be the best way to get me to bluray and sacd as the price is quite reasonable.

Doh, never mind. I see the 40gig ps3 does not have sacd support.
