I suppose from a home theater point of view, if you had theater style seating the rear/upper seating area would benefit from this style of speaker hmmmmmmm I might have to try this when I finally get a dedicated home theater.

Say. You could hook up the upper drivers of the speaker to the presence channel.

sounds the same with either 1 or 2 hooked up. and since they are dedicated for theatre use i'm okay with that. i read somewhere someone had placed theirs on cinder blocks to raise them which gives the high end a bit more height... for presence, what about a pair of smaller book shelf speakers on top of the on top of, if you know what i mean.

From what I know, Axiom generally won't make that upgrade due to other component changes--it's not cost effective.

Both of those are cost effective, but Pro Amps like QSC, Behringer, Tapco ect offer the best bang for $$.

The specs for all of these amps are readily found online, but in a nutshell they offer considerably more power for the dollar than "home" stereo amps. Aside from the appearance of some of these Pro Amps(some are kind of industrial looking), they also are usually(not all) fan cooled which may or may not be an issue for you at lower levels in an HT setting. There are numerous forums online on either swapping to a quieter fan or attenuating the existing one. Still, if someone is adding this kind of power to your system, you probably listen at higher levels anyway and wouldn't hear the fans.
