Sales must have been slow this past week as Future Shop just extended their 'Week' till January 7th.

It certainly wasn't slow on Blu Rays. FS, BB and Walmart were cleaned out pretty good on the first day of the sales although I still managed to find a couple of deals. The malls 'round here have been packed all week.

That is no surprise. This should be a big year for bluray as players have finally hit that $100 pricepoint.

Also a great time to pull the trigger on a new TV, I can't believe some of the prices this season...of course, this time next year, I'll be saying the same thing.

Two comments, the first being that while in Sears today doing the Boxing Day/week sales shopping, i saw for the first time a Bluray movie on a Panasonic Viera plasma tv (50").
Both the tv and the movie image were amazing, though i'm not sure i liked the ultra sharp picture vs. the softer movie/film screen quality from a 480p dvd.
But it WAS SHARP!!

Second, we've been out the past week taking in all the sales and have done rather well.
Bought new bedroom furniture pieces, mattress and living room accessories. Every store we went to was offering no GST, free shipping, all the little things plus the occasional deal because we didn't like a price or an option.
An overall good post-Xmas sales week from our perspective.

My wife and I are ordering new family room furniture for the new house from Lazy Boy as they had a good sale price with an additional 10% off for Boxing week. \:\)
