Got $$$ towards them and a gift certificate is due in February. One would think that would give me lots of time to make up my mind, but........

My brother got his first Axiom speaker for Christmas, a VP100. I also gave him a gift certificate so he can eventually buy himself some M2's and QS4's. He says he does not want new fronts right now. But we all know that once he hears his lousy HTIB JBL speakers paired with the VP100 he is going to start really wanting a pair of M2's to give him better sound.

I ordered a pair of speakers, to be delivered on the 30th. Sorry guys, not Axiom's, I got way too good of a deal on a pair of Rocket 550's brand new from Onix.

Did you notice the expiration date on the gift cert?

I got an old pair of floorstanding ADS speakers (L1090's) that a friend was simply throwing away(!!).
I listened to them along side some Phase Techs here but need to get them home to set up to compare to my M60s.

They might sound a little nasal I think, but we'll see. The price was right. I'm sure I can find a good use for them.

Yeah, but that's in December. Besides, it gives me the excuse to buy before the end of next year. Then y'all won't have to listen to me whining about my mains, at least...

OK...I'm back.

I sure hope you heard those Rockets before you bought them. Happy Holidays.

Spiff,

If I do not like the sound of them, I can sell them for a $200 profit(going by conservitive used sales on audiogon), that is how good of a deal I got.

I have also heard some of their speakers, and they are very nice.

Well, they came in last night. After fooling around with placements, the muffled sound I heard after first hook up turned into an amazing sound stage with great imaging.

I also ordered the risers for the RS550's as there is a large difference when sitting in a seat, then sitting on the ground. The risers, at adding 6 and a half inches, will be perfect. Until then, phone books.

Now to order some Axioms and compare..............

I'm very curious to hear your thoughts between the 550's and a pair of Axioms.

I only heard the RS150's. To put it bluntly, they sucked. Perhaps the 550's are much better.
