I agree 100% the original designs are the best. I wonder if they will bring back the Mustang II, obviously just the lift back version, at some point as it did have a following too.

My first dream car was a '67 427 Corvette, then after high school it became a 427 Cobra, so naturally when I could afford it I bought a European Spec Porsche 930.

Well, at least Ford proved completely incompetent at beating the originals.

Now we are talking cars, although the new versions are that much better at everything. My dream car is a 427 AC Cobra, ok not much of a car more an engine with wheels \:\)

OK Jay, get away from MY dream car!!! They didn't make enough for both of us.

I did drive a new GT500 last summer. Very fun car. It took a great deal of restraint to not go into debt and buy it. If I had my choice of cars in the 50K range, a slightly used Z06 still gets my vote. The Z06 is considerably funner to drive than the GT500. I prefer the LS7 over the ZR1's 6.2 any day of the week.
That has to be the best looking Lexus I've seen Mark. I had no idea they were coming out with that. What's it going to cost?

Sigh.....enough dreaming and back to work.

Probably a couple of nights in the slammer! ;\)

Seriously, for the same coin, you could buy all of the cars you mentioned, and still have enough money for an ice cream.

$375K, I think I saw earlier in this thread.

In other words, more than a Lambo.

The most fun I ever had in a car was driving a tricked out Nissan Skyline. It felt like it had at least 350 or more horses and I don't mind admitting that I didn't feel comfortable enough in my driving skills to let it 100% loose. Tempted, but an accident would have been a major loss due to the circumstances. See below.

Besides it's speed and the freakiness created by it being a right hand drive car, it was the "most" fun because it shouldn't even have been legally on the road as it just came off a container along with a couple of other cars my buddy was importing. The lift axle on the flatbed he was going to haul them with refused to raise so we decide to drive them back to his place rather than risk leaving them where they were (guaranteed stolen) so it was kind of a Cannonball Run experience. Stupid Yes, but it all worked out and my life is a bit richer for it.

I think the most fun I ever had driving was when I test drove a Mercedes S600 (V12!) in Las Vegas on a small test track set up with cones in an empty parking lot. Nothing to crash in to, I really let the sucker loose and pushed its anti-skid technology to the limit. The best part was that my then boss was in the back seat without his seatbelt on. \:\)

A close second was when I rented a Dodge Viper for Ken's bachelor party. I was the second driver on the rental agreement and it was a blast driving it the 40 miles back to the rental place. Especially when I left a cloud of smoke leaving the toll gate on the Dumbarton Bridge. \:\)
