The "grain" on the QS surrounds is shown both horizontal
and vertical
I prefer the vertical and am assuming that there has been a production change and one picture is out of date .....or is it my eyes?

Axiom found that the vertical grain eliminated standing waves. So they now make all of their speakers with vertical grain wood veneer.
Just Kidding, that is absolute bullshite. I will check myQS8's tomorrow to see what position the grain is in though if you want.

Thanks Snippy,
I thoght it had to do with the flow of air surrounding high mounted speakers on vertical surfaces, I'm pretty sure I saw a paper on that .

Actually, the bottom one is a QS8 and the top is a QS4. Look at the spacing around the tweeter...
