To get a brand new left sub, and a new amp for my right without asking is just incredible. Axiom's support is unmatched, it really is so uncommon today.
I see, once again Axiom customer service goes above and beyond. \:\)

This morning I head downstairs to the living room to start my day and I smell what seems like rubber. I thought it was a new (old) fridge I had put in the basement yesterday so I head downstairs. Check the fridge and everything is OK with that, no smell. Head back to the living room and I focus in on my EP800's. I touch the back plate of the left one and it is scorching hot. I also notice it is making a clicking sound. I immediately shut it off and unplug it. I go to the other EP800 and it seemed to be fine. The hot sub amp was the replacement for the second EP800 after I received the replacement for my first EP800. So:
First replacement amp went in one sub which is fine.
Second replacement amp went in the other which is hot.
Weird
Put a call in to Axiom and left a message.

Hello Onn

When you say the back plate of your EP800 was scorching hot, was it too hot to maintain contact with your hand?

Are we talking fire hazard here?

I could keep my hand on the back plate for a few seconds. No way of holding it there for any longer. It was hot enough to make the burning rubber smell in the living room. Wish I had the laser thermometer from work and could have checked the temp properly.

Geesh, I hope they get to the bottom of this. Sorry to hear that Mel.

I have brought my laser thermometer home from work as I have been having hot water issues with the new house. I'll send it up to you; wait it is probably faster for you to just drop in to your work and pick yours up, never mind \:\)

JC called me first thing this morning and said they were planning on shipping out my two new subs on Monday or Tuesday. Will find out more next week.
