A little pretentious, but overall, still pretty entertaining. I agree with my friend who thought the ending was a little weak. It wasn't the most satisfying conclusion for me, either. I wanted it to get a little deeper. The audio was pretty good, though, and it included some very nice low-bass moments. I'd say it's worth a watch.

X-Men: First Class

I couldn't get into it. I think prequels are hard to do well. Like most, there's too much winking and nudging about stuff that's to come. Nothing else about the writing was anything to write home about, either. It just seemed to drag, and it didn't have anything to say that wasn't already said by the other X-Men movies.

Watching X-men: First Class on Blu-ray for first time. (Not done yet). Started out fairly slow, but 3/4 of way through is very good. It kept bothering me where I'd seen the actor that played the young Xavier before. I had to cheat and look it up on imdb.com. Of course, Mr. Tumnus from Lion, Witch, Wardrobe movie.

I just started watching. I had read the beginning of the manga, so what I've watched so far is familiar. I'm pretty sure it's one I'm going to enjoy. So far it's really easy to look forward to the next episode. It's just a fun story. I seriously need to figure out how to do that with my own writing.

For this kind of movie, I thought it was pretty well-done. Nothing that will wow you, but it's a nice look at how things might realistically play out in an epidemic. More realistic than other movie attempts, I should say. I'll probably end up owning it.

Yesterday I bought "Gone with the Wind" on blu-ray, single disk, 70th anniversary edition. Then looked at the reviews on Amazon. I couldn't decide on whether to keep it, or return for a different edition. All of the reviews were so confusing. I eventually just opened the package and decided to keep it. I think I made the right decision.

Has anyone else watched the 70th anniversary edition? Does it have decent sound and picture quality for a blu-ray?

I'll be interested in any replies. I have the 3 disc set and haven't even taken the shrink wrap off yet. frown

No, but my barbecue cover appeared to be "gone with the wind" this morning. We have a bit of a breeze blowing as Hurricane Maria flows by. It's way out to sea for us so it's not even close to storm winds for us but I forgot to secure the cover after grilling some corn last night.
