Is it "him"?

What's he reading there, anyway?

It's not a book about audio. They normally have more diagrams.

Actually, here's how I came across that link. On another thread started by Nickba re. M80s and Sig 8's, Alan had talked about having auditioned hundreds of speakers so I went Googling to see if I could find any writeups he might have done on some of them, particularly Paradigm, Mirage, PSBs ect, when that link came up with his name in it. Out of curiousity, I checked it out and figured it must be OUR Alan, due to the date, spelling ect...

That's my story, I'm sticking with it...

Now, Mark! you gonna share some of that pie or what?

Oh. My. God.

While running errands last night, I bought a pie.

Were you that weird guy that was two places behind me in line?

It's easy to confuse a lemon pie with a lemon meringue from across the street with binoculars...

How is Alan going to know what kind of pie Mark purchased ?

I have great respect for Alan but you may be expecting too much.

Hi Adrian and all,

Yep, that's me, likely reading "Dick and Jane". Bad school photographer (out of focus). When I clicked Adrian's link, it also shows the public school I attended.

I think Prince Charles has much bigger ears.

Cheers,
Alan

Sorry Alan, but I had ya beat in the "ears" department. Porbably beat out Prince Charles as well. Remember the TV show The Flying Nun? With my ears I could out-fly her any day.

Love my open mouth, not-a-brain-in-sight expression (3rd grade, photo circa early 1954).

You'll also note the difference in style. Obviously, Alan went to a much classier school (we had a better photographer, though ) Although, having pants which had a lining that matched the shirt was considered to be pretty classy in them days. ;\) Bet my shoes wouldn't pass muster at Alan's school either.

However, you'll note that a mere 3 years later, I had turned into a very natty, suave, man about town with spiffy houndstooth bow tie and jacket (6th grade, photo January 1957) . Still those flying ears, though.

Interestingly, my ears no longer stick out like that. I think I've reached the age where things have sagged enough that my ears been pulled closer to my head.

My ears stick out, too. When I was a baby, my parents noticed that when I slept, my thin little ears were often folded forward under my head, and they were starting to stick out because of it. They actually tried taping my ears back to my head so it wouldn't happen. It didn't work.

And wouldn't you know it. The only kid pic I can find of myself is with my ears obscured.

Interestingly, when I was a kid, as I slept, I would fold my ears just as you did, and I am convinced that is why mine stuck out. Since, I stopped doing that (about 50+ years ago), my ears have flattened to normal, but it took years.

P.S. DAMN! You were one cute kid. What the hell happened????

You looked like Haley Joel Osment

Yeah, Jack; you and Alan definitely had ears designed for better audio appreciation.

Hey Ajax,

Woo, those are serious ears! Of course, that's why we all appreciate great speakers (Axiom).

I have a book called "Why Do Men Have Nipples", written by a couple of emergency medicine doctors, wherein it is explained that our ears keep growing all our lives. . .

Cheers,

Alan
