More Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I'm still interested in where the story is going. There have been some nice twists.

Started season 3 of Burn Notice and also watched Ichi.

I can't throw Ichi with full force onto my Recommended pile, but I will say that it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It's one of those movies with a nice, clean look that's probably too clean, coming across as sterile. The swordfight scenes aren't too wonderful, either. I don't regret watching it, but the pace is a bit slow, and the payoff isn't huge. At least the main actress has a nice face.

I also watched the first episode of Breaking Bad last night, but I fell asleep during part of it. The opening scene annoyed me, too, where he somehow runs over the pants that blew off his RV. Maybe the explanation for that happened when I was asleep, but yeah, I couldn't figure out how it could blow off and then end up in front of his vehicle to be run over. Anyway, I kept hearing such good comments about the show, so I'll give it more of a chance, but I'm honestly not sure it's something I'll be investing too much more time in.

Just finished watching “Claymore,” a 26 episode (23 minutes each) action/drama anime on Hulu.

I found “Claymore” a mixed bag which had huge potential but never quite seemed to hit it’s stride. I liked the premise but as the show progressed it seemed to bog down with another “battle-to-end-all-battles” with clear signs of more to come. It’s my main gripe about Mecha anime that always seem to spend to much time on the fight scenes.

While the first season does have a closing it leave the story unfinished and AFAIK there are no intentions of making anime out of the remaining manga.

I liked the soundtrack but can’t really comment on the video or animation quality since I was watching on Hulu which can’t come close to my Oppo up-converting DVDs.

Which brings me to a separate issue. I like what Hulu offers but don’t think I will be marathon watching to many shows there. A few episodes at a time is alright but after a while seeing the same 10 commercials over and over again is grating. The only reason I marathoned this one was because I was having trouble finding the whole series and it was about to drop off Hulu. Most of the anime series they have I already have on disk so not really a problem.

Speaking of Hulu last week over several days I watched the first season of “Merlin.” Not the greatest show but not terrible either. I imagine if I tried to watch it over the course of a season it might not have held my interest but the characters are likable enough and the twist one the legend is interesting enough I think I’ll stick with it should there be a second season.

I often catch “Burn Notice” at work and find it interesting enough but don’t think I would make an effort to make sure I’ve seen all the episodes.

I would say I enjoy it just enough to make the effort. There's a general crappiness to the show that will prevent it from ever being a classic, but I'm glad Bruce Campbell found a role that he can play well, hammy as he is. The emotional parts of the show are always a bit heavy-handed. The production values aren't the hottest. Still, the wealth of tricks they cram into every episode is fun, even if they aren't all the most plausible. I'd say my parents definitely enjoy the show more than I do, but I still like it. I'd say it's a stronger show than Leverage, which is in the same Good Samaritan vein. Of course, I only saw the first season of that one, so maybe it's gotten better.

Yeah I like Bruce Campbell. I picked up “The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.” from Amazon a while back but have yet to watch it. I remember liking what I saw of it but never saw all the episodes not that there were very many.

I saw “Leverage” for the first time at work last week. Seemed ok, like a cross between “Mission Impossible” and “The ‘A’ Team.” However, I don’t see making any real effort to watch it.

Just watched the first episode of “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” on the Funimation Youtube channel. Seemed pretty good with the characters seeming quite like the original which I liked a lot. Hope the little brother doesn’t whine as much in this one.
