Carolina whipping the Terps. Of course, the curmudgeon side of me says.......I don't even know who all is in the ACC anymore. Why, in my day there were eight teams and, you know, they were all roughly on the Atlantic Coast. NOT Today! No, NOT Today! I thought Indiana was the "heartland"........

Ok I feel better now.

I hear ya. I grew up in northeast Georgia, roughly equidistant from Georgia Tech and Clemson. Used to be that was considered the southern tip of the conference. Almost went to Duke for my undergrad but enjoyed my visit to Notre Dame a whole lot more and arrived there the same fall that Lou Holtz did. Good times with him and Digger on the sidelines.

Now that Mike Brey has us a semi-respectable hoops program again, I look forward to seeing more events in person now that Notre Dame is in the ACC. I'm about 45 minutes from UVa. I'm with ya, though, one has to suspend his geographical disbelief with the new ACC.

We've had a rough season, but at least we beat Duke (men's and women's). Looks like your Heels are the next visitors to South Bend. Could be interesting.

Last night they were showing some replays of Len Bias making the Tar Heels look like a high school team. As big a Tar Heel fans we all were, every body that I knew liked and respected Lefty Drisell. Sure hated to see him lose his job over Bias's youthful misjudgements.

Rented 'Ender's Game' Blu Ray last night.

Quite a 'different' story line - half way thru, my wife (big sci-fi fan) remarked that she wasn't enjoying it. She warmed up to it after that.

Stunning visually with some nice shots of BC mountains. Even with my modest system, it rattled & pulsed something in the left side of our room almost to destruction on several occasions - our cats didn't appreciate it, ha!

Good review here:

I saw it in the theater and did end up buying the Blu-ray. I was hoping for more, since I liked the book so much. I think it mainly needed better directing. Sure, some of the writing could have been improved, but mostly a lot of the moments fell flat because they weren't handled well. It still had its moments, and I did like the look of a lot of the film.

Working my way through season 2 of House of Cards on Netflix. The lead singer from Lake Street Dive sings the national anthem in a scene in episode 6.

That's a tough book to recreate on the big screen. I watched it the other night. I give them an A for effort, but really, it did not convey the intent of the book very well.

What's the best Sean Connery Bond movie? Rented Moonraker to watch with my son the other day because, well, Jaws, but I'd love to revisit Connery as Bond without watching the whole series.

Seasin three of BBC's Sherlock on bluray. It's as good as the first two seasons. This has to be my all time favorite show. It moves so fast, and is so clever that I can not be drinking when I watch it or I miss details.
