What I’m wondering is if there are any third party outlets that will take delivery of something for you from Fedex or UPS and then hold it for pickup later?

Specifically, I just got a PM from someone in Malaysia on the AVS forum asking if any local Phoenix retailers sell the AE4000 so a friend of his visiting town in November can pick one up. The seem to be no.

I have calls out to a couple of HT places in town who will get back to me if they can get it (don’t normally carry Panasonic) but these are higher end and might end up jacking up the price. I’ve had bad experiences with the “HT specialists” types who don’t actually operate out of a brick and mortar establishment so I can’t see steering him that direction.

Wow! I’m pretty stupid. I’m guessing that both UPS and Fedex will hold a package for pickup at a local station. Duh!

They will only hold it for so long then ship it back and make sure the shipment is in the name of the person who is picking it up as they might not release it.

Hi,
There is a firm offereing such a service and more. I frequently and regularly used their services; it is inexpensive; Kinek. https://www.kinek.com/kpointC/Home.action
