And yes the BDP-83 actually up-converts better than the 981HD. Add to that, I’ve put over 1500 disks in/out of my 981 to chapter through rips to make sure they were good and it’s still hanging in there. Did I mention they even play my old VCDs. Universal anyone? This stinking 3-D fad has everything AFU'd as bad as HDMI did when it initially rolled out. Whether or not any of us get into 3-D or not, it is still having an impact on electronic devices that no one can fully appreciate quite yet.

I really enjoyed Avatar in 3-D, for about 15 minutes. After that the only thing I was concentrating on was how much I hated the glasses. If 3-D could be seen without glasses, I'd be hooked. Well, that is if they'd stop trying to poke me with a stick. I do not like that crap at all unless I'm at an amusement park.
