Jason, just want to let you know that I love my Oppo DV-981HD and BDP-83 if that’s any help. wink And yes the BDP-83 actually up-converts better than the 981HD.

Add to that, I’ve put over 1500 disks in/out of my 981 to chapter through rips to make sure they were good and it’s still hanging in there.

Did I mention they even play my old VCDs. Universal anyone?

P.S. Glad to be of service.

Damn straight! smile I'm pretty sure it also makes wonderful open face sandwiches, but the reviews aren't out on it yet.

HD Panini gets your bagels toasted to any shade of black you want, or all of tthem with a smooth gradient.

Yup, it's rumored that the gradient looks fantastic with the glasses, but unnoticeable otherwise.

Hey, Jay's conundrum is solved. Just eat, and there will be no desire to buy the 93!

Not to derail this derailed train wreck of a thread, but......I had my old Sony VCR repaired. It used to mix margaritas.....We watched "Mulan" and the picture was suprisingly good? Must be the upscaling ability of my TV....

Most importantly, how were the margaritas? I hear that machine does a pretty good job mixing. Doesn't it also come with its own olive dispenser?

I'd hold off for the second generation Jay. This stinking 3-D fad has everything AFU'd as bad as HDMI did when it initially rolled out. Whether or not any of us get into 3-D or not, it is still having an impact on electronic devices that no one can fully appreciate quite yet.

I am not looking forward to HT if 3D sticks around and becomes the norm.

I think it would make a good addition to what we already have, provided 2D works just as well.

I have mixed feelings about 3-D. I really enjoyed Avatar in 3-D, for about 15 minutes. After that the only thing I was concentrating on was how much I hated the glasses. If 3-D could be seen without glasses, I'd be hooked. Well, that is if they'd stop trying to poke me with a stick. I do not like that crap at all unless I'm at an amusement park.

They were talking about cheese a moment ago. It's the "Ungrated Version".
