Charlotte, NC has been selected as the site for the 2012 Democratic Convention. I heard it said that it was a good thing because they could get good BBQ.

As a point of reference, I heard a good quote on the radio this morning. A retired UNC professor wrote a book on NC BBQ (I apologize in advance for messing this quote up)....

As a town for BBQ, Charlotte is:
A) Not what it used to be
B) Like Minneapolis for Gumbo
C) Good enough for Yankees
D) Close to Shelby

Everyone knows that the best place for BBQ is Lexington NC!
