I am looking at buying a set of qs8 surrounds when my cash stash is of sufficient size. My question is, I hear on this forum that the ideal placement is on the sides of the room. The problem is that one side of my family room is open to the kitchen, leaving no wall to mount the speaker on that side. Short of hanging one speaker on a side wall, and the other hanging from the ceiling(qs8's are kinda big to hang from the ceiling), does anyone have any other ideas?

Perhaps this thread, which is currently going on in the "Technical Questions" section, might help.

Check out the link to an inexpensive bracket in a post by jasonw1701 on page 2.

allenh,

Be sure to check out the thread Jack linked above. I've posted a link in that discussion showing some pictures of my ceiling mounted QS8's if you want to see how they look.
