Joyce and I highlight a bunch of new shows every year and TiVo them. We then watch an episode or two of each to decide if we like it. If we do like it, we have a tendency to let them "bunch up" and watch them togeter...i.e., wait until there's 3 or 4 episodes so we can watch them all back to back.

In the meantime, though, we start keeping an eye on the websites that buzz with the demise of which shows aren't going to be renewed or even continue. When we come across one that got the axe, we just delete all of them rather than watch them. If a series is wrapped up nicely, fine... but often times they end without any real ending, or one hastily put-together episode. We've both been burned too many times for that...I'd rather delete them!

Tom, you need a TiVo with a big-azz external drive. We deleted 6-7 episodes of Life on Mars once we saw it was getting the axe a few weeks ago.

Well done, Murph!

Mark, our DTV HD DVR (whew!) serves us well. I like your strategy. I disagree with it, but I like it

Just watched Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Part 1. To paraphrase a reviewer it’s “Death Note” meets “Gundam.” However, it isn’t quite as dramatic as “Death Note” nor does it have as much action as “Gundam” so if your big fans of either don’t look for them to be recreated here. That said it is entertaining just not quite as good as I expected given the number of “top” lists it’s shown up on.

It’s in a 1.78:1 (16x9) format with quite vivid animation and the very good audio for stereo only. Part #1 (2 disks) was entertaining and flew by very quickly but nothing that will make it into a classic that I can see, but then I don’t get the super appeal of Neon Genesis Evangelion either.

It's over. \:\( \:\(

I just watched the 2-hr series finale of Battlestar Galactica. It was fantastic. But alas, there is no more.... **tears**

The show really is that good.

I'm now watching all the retrospective cast interviews on the show's website to prolong the moment.

Still waiting to pick up Season 2 on DVD. Caught a portion of one of the lead up shows to the finale yesterday and I was shocked at what I saw. Luckily I haven't been able to watch too many first aired and I haven't recorded any, so it will all be very new to me when I pick up the next set of discs.

Cool now that it’s over I can start ordering the rest of the DVDs and watch the whole thing. I lost track due to deployments and missing episodes so I figured I’d just wait for the DVDs and see the whole thing at once the way I did with Firefly and Farscape.
