I'm about to buy a pair of m80v3 speackers.

I remember hearing A3 cabinet speackers my grand father owned.
thoses had internal amplifier that was necessary to drive the big woofers.
i remember i had really good time from child time till i reached 16 years old.
thoses 30-40 years old speakers got a problem with the internal amplifier that suddently stopped working.

I never heard highs that natural and medium/voice register that clear.
classical music sounding from thoses speakers was really good it was like if i was directly in the theater pit with musicians.
It was not able to reach high volume but what it done it did it well.

My father bought 20 years ago some celestion speakers and Vivaldi fourth season with nigel kennedy as violonist made me dreaming even during day when i was young.

in 2006 i bought Evo 40 speakers from wharfedale.
Bass was really amazing for the price range it sound ok but I was disapointed to not been able to localize the sound stage.Sound is flat but not living as i would like when i listen to piano performance. (i own a piano and i know how it should sound like.)

I think it should be a good improvement to buy the m80 v3 isn't it ?

I own a Akg k450 headphone.An emu 0404 sound card and a hk 675 amplifier.
I like my headphones cause of the way it deliver full audio spectrum range with almost flat curves.
but i prefer natural way a speaker render the sound at distance hehe.

My goal is to obtain a soundstage as beautifful as my 35 years old grandfa A3 speackers.

I heard about monitors speackers used at records studios.
i think m80 won't disapoint me.

I don't think the M80s will disappoint either! Be sure to post your impressions once you've set them up and had a chance to listen to them!

I'm thinking i need 60 feet of rca audio cable.
my sound card and amplifier won't accept balanced audio cable.
Do you know about good quality and not that expensive audio connection cable i oculd use ?

60ft is a long ways, but check monoprice as a website for cheap/good cables.

Blanchard, welcome to Axiom. Yes, the M80s are excellent speakers and you should be very pleased with the wonderful sounds of the classical music(my own listening is almost entirely classical)you'll be hearing through them.

As to connecting cables, it's pretty much redundant to use "good quality", since it's pretty hard to find anything that doesn't meet that description, at least from reputable suppliers. Be aware that some peddlers of high-priced wire, unable to give technical reasons(mainly because there aren't any)to pay what they ask, suggest that a certain percentage of system cost be for connections. This of course is absurd, and attempts to create a relationship between totally unrelated prices. For example, when I got my EP500(an over $1000 item)about 5 1/2 years ago I immediately got this cable from MonoPrice, which I still use.

I suspect that your reference to "60 feet" was total quantity rather than length of one run, but in any case, the losses in coaxial cable in home audio are extremely low and distance isn't a significant factor. The amount of shielding against interference typically found in coax is sufficient for home uses where unusually high levels of interference rarely exist.

I own a pioneer dv-585A dvd player.
that is my primary audio source for easy listening and access to my cd library

my computer sound card emu 0404 on internal pci interface does a good job at processing sound.This is my secondary audio source.

there is advantage to not use a computer as dedicated sound station and i did a little error:

My computer is blocked between my speakers pair.
it distract all the family while listening music.

I found a spot in the next room where to put the comp at.
50~ feet lenght of rca audio cable is needed for the wiring.

I know about audio clipping i can't avoid by my own even if i set my volume master in software to avoid reaching 0dbfs at max lvl peak.A clipped sound is clipped forever lol.
Buying the right cds with ethical recording where people don't follow the loudness war cult is the way to go :p
but that's not the subject.
