I'm going to have to jump back onto the Main quest. I need a house to store all of my stuff and a new companion to carry. My loot

You guys are making me want to jump into this. Then I look realistically at my time and I am only intermediate level on GT5 and am still trying to finish the single player campaign on Portal2. Not to mention the other games I pick at every once in a while (Need for Speed, Pixel Junk Monsters & Shooter, LBP2 etc...) No point in me pretending I can get into a massive game like this.

Carry on and I'll live vicariously through your posts! laugh

I’m trying hard not to use guides yet. The only thing I did was to google best characters to start with and but there really want’s much help since the way the game is designed now the initial bonuses don’t amount to much as soon as you start to level up.

My strategy has been too slowly expand out from Riverwood rather than try to cover the whole map. My idea being that they probably designed the game to play progressively out from there. Also I’m not beating my head against anything to complete it. Like when the group of mages kicked my butt several times running I just decided to detour around them.

If I do need to cheat I’ve got my LCD monitor off to the side so I can look things up w/o having to leave the game. The main help that gives me is not being able to spell or even remember how to spell something I see I can read it off the map/game w/o having to jump back-and-forth. But so far I haven’t had to do any cheating. When I played Oblivion for the first time it had already been out for some time so the Wiki had so many hints it made things way to easy, though I don’t mind using it to find things that would otherwise be un-findable like in Oblivion finding “FinGleam” off the coast like I would have just thought to randomly comb the bottom of the ocean to find a great item. Same thing with a ring you find in the back of a waterfall. When there are no hints in-game as how to find something I don’t really see it as cheating to look it up.

One thing I’ve liked so far is the two “puzzles” I ran into in the first dungeon had hints as how to solve them so I didn’t just have to try all the various combinations of settings. I thought that was cool so now I’m always looking for hints if I find a puzzle to solve.

Anyone ever get digital versions of strategy guides? Seems like they would be easier to navigate than a normal book, but I still have trouble buying digital-only content. I wish all books came with digital copies.

I had to kill a Giant for a side quest. A dragon came and the Giant and Mammoths annihilated the dragon. I was left to deal with the rest. Killing a Giant by itself is tough enough, but when you have multiple Mammoths charging you as well...damn!

Giants aren't so bad if I'm up somewhere they can't get to and I have a lot of arrows. Ha ha. That doesn't seem to be the way it goes very often, though.
