Just a quick note to tell you that the shoutbox has officially been retired. We’ve had complaints over the years due to comments in the shoutbox being offensive (whether intended as such or not, the disappearing-post-format makes it impossible to keep context alive for long). Please resume regularly scheduled bantering in the Water Cooler, and please remember your manners.

Is there going to be, like, some kind of a retirement party or something?

Complaints? I tell you, there's a lot of people in this world that really need a hobby.

I didn't use the shout box very often, but virtually every time I read a comment in it, it made me laugh.

I think the forum would be a better place with the shout box, and without the whiners....

I think it's important to remember that this IS a commercial site designed to help potential customers buy their speakers. Although I personally was never offended, there have been times when I thought "This doesn't make a very good impression" to some first-time visitors. What's funny to one person can be offensive to another, and everyone is entitled to their personal feelings.

I respect Axioms decision, bud. It's the complaints that ultimately drove them to this decision that bother me.

The same applies to Bob's post a while back that had a homosexual slant to it. If it was of a heterosexual vein, I doubt anyone would have said anything.

Too bad. I enjoyed the shoutbox for its ephemeral nature.

I can see how the edgy nature of some of the stuff is not fitting for a commercial site though.

OTOH, it'll be better when reading on my iPod. Many times I swiped and scrolled the shoutbox instead of the whole page as intended.
