Aw shucks .... Seriously, that Pledge-on-the-water-ring thing works like a charm. I've used it on several antique tables -- on oil finishes and lacquer. I just used it last week on a blush stain that resulted from my 4-yr-old (with my assistance) blowing bubbles and leaving a sticky residue on a 150-year-old pine table. Mayonaisse is a popular home remedy that works on the same principle, but I believe the silicon in Pledge (or any similar product) works better. It certainly smells better.
