So, here is the newest addition, 107lb's of stereo power... In anticipation of my LFR's.. i included a Dr pepper can in the photos so that the true size can be appreciated. Below, are both of the amps that will be powering my LFR's when they arrive.. The new amp in it's new home.. This would be the "out take", meet Sampson... he saw me laying down taking the first few photos in this post, and thought he would join me right in between me and the amp! After this photo, i decided to just let him be where he wanted to.. hence his being in other photos..

I ordered 2 power strips from this company, a 10 outlet one, and a 6 outlet surge suppressor. Hammond Manufacturing-> Outlet strips 1580, as well as the ZT surge suppressor.. http://www.hammondelec.com/passive.shtmlHammond has a branch about a mile away from my house, so i can pick them up in person once they are manufactured... They look like they are pretty high quality, we will see... Where are the pic's of your new power cables??? This amp has a hard wired power cable, that is 10 gauge 3 conductor cable, and is considerably thicker than my thumb... Where is the link to the powerbar you just got?

Dak, are you going to get 2 of those? One for each speaker? Hehehehe, no... the 300 is a stereo amp, and the 250a is also a stereo amp. the 300 is 600W @ 4ohms, and the 250a is 500W @ 4 ohms.... 1,100W to the LFR's should be more than sufficient.... the 300 will power the front drivers and the 250a will power the rear drivers. Both amps have the Exact same gain, 26.4DBW, which was why i got the 300CX and i got a fairly good deal on it (used).

dakkon,
I was thinking of plugging all my amps into the PPC, which is a total of six. I also have the PR-MC5500 which I bought with the Onkyo prepro 5508 (9.2) for the surrounds.

What is the current rating for the power strip/breaker that the outlet strip is going to be plugged into? You don't want to overload the strip/breaker.... I am already at the point that i have tripped the breaker the HT is on 2 times now... So i know i need to get more power to the HT equipment.. Mainly the amps... I am not one who believes in segregating power for no reason(i guess i am not an "audiophile"). I believe that as long as i am operating within the limits of my equipment then I'm good... However, since i am tripping breakers; i think i will get a couple of dedicated outlets installed, each on their own 20a breaker... I will also get a "whole house surge supressor" put in as well.

That's what the PPC is built for.(mono blocks) I haven't had an issue yet. I am currently running everything through the Panamax(minus three mono's) so hopefully it will be alright.

Today i have had the time listen to some two channel music in stereo... All i can saw is WoW...and holy cow... I have been listening to these two Cd's.. This one ,which was recommended by Johnk, and this one which was recommended by FrankeeD. Until now i have been of the opinion that solid state amps pretty much all sound the same... Well, i think i have changed my mind about that.... With the 300 in the system, it sounds AMAZING... i think it is much better than when the 250a was powering the M60's... The 300 is the 3rd amp that has powered my M60's, i started with a Marantz MM9000 which i liked and still use in my bed room system. Then i went to the 250a, the 250a had a considerable amount more power than the Marantz amp did, but i did not really notice any difference in the "sound". Now that the 300 is powering the 60's, they do "sound" different in a way. The 300 is capable of producing WAY more power than the 60's would ever need. However, i think the design of the 300 allows it to be more transparent, the power supply is fully balanced as well as both channels of amplification, i am also using XLR interconnects. I think it is an intangible quality that audio reviewers attempt to describe with fancy words. I am going to just leave it at, i think my M60's sound smoother and the most natural that my they have ever sounded. Also, the Dual 600's, with the CD that John recommended, are able to make several of the photos on the wall rattle; i will need to get rubber dots for many of the frames now..... I am very happy with my recent additions to the HT/stereo set up... If the LFR's make as big of a difference as my most recent upgrades, i will be quite happy and will attempt to find a job that will allow me to work from home .......

dakkon,
I'm glad your thrill meter is going up, with the purchase of that new toy. When you get those new speakers, I figure that meter will be close to being pegged. I hope your local news station isn't getting their barometric pressure reading for their weather forecast anywhere near where you live though. For sure that reading will have them scratching their heads like jakewash.

that is from the instruction manual... I thought some of you might enjoy that tidbit... And yes, you do need to use the provided handles + a buddy to move it around....
Thanks for the kind words everyone.

As long as your happy, that's what matters! Sure am envious tho...but I will have the same speakers, plus I have the M80's for widths. Ha!
edit: I just checked the Panamax for amps: my whole system spiked at 4.7 amps with a Thin Lizzy tune according to it. and was loud but not quite reference .

Yes, we don't have extreme temps, but there is a few weeks in the summer we can't sleep at night for the heat. I decided to get http://www.b-p-t.com/power-centers.html the PC-9LNT (9 gauge with Teflon option) for the PPC. All I have to get is three more XLR cables and I am done. It's been a two year project, but am really satisfied with my sound now....let alone the LFR's. That will just be icing on the cake. Promise pics soon, lol.

All I have to get is three more XLR cables and I am done. I am going to get all new XLR cables from monoprice.. Right now i have kimbercable hero XLR's.. They were 100$ each..!, i am going to buy a couple of the mono price cables to test. From an electrical theory point of view, there should be no difference in sound, due to the design of the cable... The monoprice XLR's are around 5$ each.... If i were to stick with all kimbercable's i would need 4 more... Or, i could buy 9 mono price cables for around 50 bucks shipped... That camera must take some special batteries, i think it was last week you said you needed new ones...

Where did the Dr Pepper come from It came from the back of the fridge in the garage... I spent 5 minutes to find a soda can, i dont drink much soda at all.... i have no idea how old it is... I don't even know where it wound up after i took the photos, i should find it.... and more importantly, did someone drink it?
Heck no, i would not let anyone drink it, i think it is probably 5+ years old.....

Unless he's going for the center channel cross-over DSP. In that case he'd already have 3, and need 5 more.

I live in MA and when I was in high school I worked in a grocery store. There 3 items that I would regularly stock the shelves with, but never saw anyone actually purchase: Clamato, Beefamato and Moxie. When we got a new kid working with us, we would make him drink a can of warm Moxie for his initiation.

I liked Moxie when I was a kid, because I saw the adults drinking it on occassion. Clamato and Beefamato are as gross a Vegemite. Whenever Fidelity Boston would host Fidelity Canada, we (catering company) were always told to have Clamato juice on hand. Really? Is it a thing in Canada?

When we got a new kid working with us, we would make him drink a can of warm Moxie for his initiation. I think that this is because every household has a six pack of moxie, for 1 reason and 1 reason alone..... It was not for their own personal consumption.

...Whenever Fidelity Boston would host Fidelity Canada, we (catering company) were always told to have Clamato juice on hand. Really? Is it a thing in Canada? Yep. Just mix with a Timmies and a shot of vodka first thing and you're good to go for the day.

Around here Caesars are an extremely popular cocktail made with Clamato. Personally, I like my seafood on a plate, not in my glass.

Ohhhh. Thanks, Murph. Another Canadian mystery solved. If it weren't for you guys, I don't know how I'd ever answer these burning Qanadian questions.
That still leaves absolutley no explanation on God's green earth for the existence of Beefamato.
