So does everyone, but you're not supposed to actually say so.

From the article:

"Awards were presented at the World Beer Cup Gala Awards Dinner on May 5, 2012, during the Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego, California."

Scroll down to see the three winners in each of the 95 categories. This one stands out to me:

Category 43: American-Style Lager or Light Lager

Gold: Coors Light, Coors Brewing Co., Golden, CO
Silver: Michelob Ultra, Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis, MO
Bronze: Michelob Light, Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis, MO

And it's not like those were the only entries. There were 39 entries in that category.

So, Peter and Ken: at our recent cookout, when I used Coors Light to boil the bratwursts in before grilling them, it wasn't just because it was the cheapest beer I saw at the grocery store. It was because I wanted to serve you a gold medal bratwurst.

Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.

They were truly bratbests. Thanks, J.P.

You were still using the wrong STYLE for the task. wink

A local favorite of mine - Silver City Brewing - took three medals, including a gold for their Imperial Stout. This was the only gold medal awarded to a WA brewery. Good for them!

Peter, I saw your haul from your trip. Looking forward to your reviews.

Work's been crazy lately so haven't been on-line much in the last couple of weeks. Anyway, I was just on a work trip to Miami and found a great little watering hole that was worth a pic:

Great beer selection - it is on Lincoln Street in South Beach in case anybody is interested. I am the fuzzy guy at the table.

Cheers!

I sampled an IPA that was infused with tea, it was from Oregon but tasted too much like tea for my liking so did not order it. I did have a Koko Brown from Hawaii and a RastafaRye ale . Both were really good. Of course, after a long but good day at work and very pretty women walking by on a warm Florida night did not hurt the experience! grin

I just removed my Mojito toting avatar after tasting a lime & mojito flavored beer from Budweiser. While my avatar had more to do with making fun of BlueJay's pic, I simply couldn't risk being even distantly associated with such a thing.
