I was just going to get Behr paint from Home Depot, or see if Sherwin Williams can replicate it. If I prime it first, I don't see any benefit to using any special paint. Never heard what you're referring to (???). Prime for red and 2 coats of red ought to do it.

Those must be Canadian companies. Don't think you can buy these in Missouri. Anyway Sherwin Williams should have the equivalent of these.

Cat, unfortunately, my schedule doesn't really leave me to being available until later in the week.

Posting this link to the auction site, in case people have a hard time finding it.

Brian, not all paint is created equal. Especially when you get into reds. I wouldn't dismiss Bob's advice so flatly. After all, he is our resident expert on such things. Your brands may be fine and hopefully two coats will do it but I can share one thing with you, I've already told one of my good buddies that if he needs help painting again and his daughter chooses red again, he can pound sand.

or up the beer bribes significantly, which is what our currency is based on.

It's funny because it's true! Our dining room is a dark red. Took a primer and 4 coats.

Wow. I guess I never painted red before. Wonder what it looks like with fewer coats, then?

I've got a 3 inch hole in the wall, that I've run some PCV pipe through that I want to repair before painting the wall. I'm not going through all the trouble to make the hole bigger and add wood, etc, etc. Someone suggested just using one of those mesh thingi-ma-bobs. I was thinking about making a plug out of drywall that fits tight, push it a little further in than the surface, then fill with spackling and sanding smooth.

Any thoughts here?

The next hole and pipe behind the TV is going to be bigger and in a different spot. Hard to thread several cables in the last one I did.

Well here's a thought. I could just leave it there. It might be handy for a future service hole for running some cable. It'll be behind the TV. The other end is in a closet at floor level.
