Speaker damage?

While playing around with the main level settings on my Yamaha receiver I noticed that the speakers are extremely loud and the upper woofer of my m22s is distorting when set on the normal setting. When I set it to the other setting(-10db) the woofer is much smoother sounding, but the volume level is much lower. I've always had the main level set at normal with my previous speakers. But, the m22s don't seem to care for this. Is it possible that I may have damaged my speakers?

Does anyone know how to delete posts. I'd sure like to delete this one. I think I must suffer from tinitis or something. Yesterday wasn't one of my better days.
