Auditioned the Paradigms, sounded very good to me. Anyone heard both Axioms and Paradigms? Paradigms cost about $200 more. (with 10% discount Paradigm dealer is giving and tax with Paradigm).

Getting new mains and center. Will get sub and another pair of M60 or Monitor 9 later.

i had the paradigm monitor v.2 series. one of the mini monitors went bad and the cc370 tweeter went bad. all within 2 years. it didn't cost much to fix them, but i thought it was inconvenient (for me at least - not near a dealer).
paradigm does make a good speaker and they do have high resale values.
i recently switched to axiom after having a bad experience w/ rockets. i think axioms are the speakers for me.

Now, I don't own either one. However, Peter (pmbuko) had Monitor 9s and upgraded to Axiom M22s. Yes, upgraded to the bookshelves. The Monitor 9s were OK, but the M22s blow them out of the water in everything except bass levels. The M22s are a huge step above the Monitor 9s. And they cost half as much. Therefore, the M60s ought to be perfect for you.

IMO, Paradigm's monitor series is a step below Axiom. If you want to audition a Paradigm that more closely resembles the performance of Axiom, listen to their Studio series. IMO, the M60 is comparable to the Studio 60/80 in terms of performance.

I've heard the M22's and the Monitor 9s.... it was close but I'd prob agree that the sound quality of the M22's was greater than the Paradigm Monitor 9's.

Considering the cost of the Studio series, why would anyone bother?
