I'm assuming this is what you're talking about?

Yep that’s what I’m talking about.

I didn't think it was a form of cheating.

Nor do I which is why I call it “gaming the system” since you are still working within the mechanics allowed by the game, as opposed to using “cheat codes.” That might seem like semantics to some but to me there is a difference. The reason I’m not doing it this time around is that once my first character became so powerful from stacking potions and enchantments it basically broke the gameplay for me because my character became indestructible.

I did the same thing with my first character as you indicate, like taking repeated blows to up my armour or beating the crap out of Shadowmare with weapons and spells since it can’t die, at least at lower levels. Once I had enchanted my “god bow” I did accidentally kill Shadowmare when it walk in front of a shot and was one-shot killed by it.

I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with working within the system to maximize a character, however I’m finding this time around that gameplay is much more enjoyable for me when I’m not spending time just doing repetitive activities to up a skill as fast as possible.

Dean, have you seen this trailer for the Skyrim Dawnguard DLC?

Bookworm Adventures Deluxe and Bulletstorm.

I wish Popcap would do facelifts on their earlier games to make them more friendly to full-screen high-definition. Otherwise, I like the game. On the normal Bookworm (free version), not Bookworm Adventures, way back in the day, I had one game last over 10 hours, and I was fast. I'm glad Bookworm Adventures breaks up the gameplay.

Bulletstorm is pretty fun so far, even if it's mostly stuff that's been done. Very pretty, which you'd expect. I'm not a fan of the Games for Windows Live stuff being required. I wish it could simply be Steam, but it really hasn't affected me much. It just feels unnecessary, and it seems like the DLC can only be purchased through GFWL, which of course doesn't go on sale to the same degree as Steam content. I only paid $5 for Bulletstorm, but I'd pay considerably more for the DLC if I wanted it.

After playing a bit, I read a lot of comments about what a bad PC port it is, but I'm really not seeing that. It's gorgeous and plays very smoothly. It probably helps that I'm using the Xbox 360 controller. In any case, I'd say it was definitely worth the $5.

Finally purchased mass effect 3 ($28 used on amazon) and dark souls ($7.99 used on amazon.). I'm looking forward to continuing campaign and online play on ME3 (I rented it a couple of weeks ago). I'm not sure what to spect with dark souls but am assuming I am in for a challenge. I'm playing catch up on several games I wanted to play a while back, but the good news is the games are much cheaper now than at release!

A new edition of Dark Souls is due out soon, it is called the Prepare to Die edition.

So, it should be easy?

Yeah, every time I read that title I say it in his accent.

I'm thinking of picking up Sleeping Dogs.

I’m armed and I’m drinking. You don’t want to listen to advice from me, amigo.
