Had dinner at D&S Southern Comfort BBQ near Ottawa. One of their signature dishes is Armadillo Eggs:

Jalapeno pepper stuffed with cheddar, wrapped in sausage, and smoked for 12 hours. Topped with a smokey sweet BBQ sauce. Unreal.....

I'm pretty sure I would eat one or six of those.

Are they shaped like that to facilitate easy entry into your arteries to clog them up?

Aw, who cares? A plate of those, some cheese fries with gravy and a couple of pitchers. Another round please!

I've had friends tell me about that place but have not yet found the time to head over there for dinner. I think that I will have to make that a motorcycle day trip destination for next season.

Definitely worth the drive, Dan. Everything we ordered was exceptional. This past March, it was featured on the Food Network show "You Gotta Eat Here". Apart from the Eggs, the other "must have" is the smoked chocolate cheese cake. Without question, the best cheese cake we have ever tasted.
