You can leave the sub on if you wish. It won't draw much power in "standby" mode, though some choose to turn it off anyway.

I always turn mine off when done with it. But then sometimes I forget to turn it back on.

both my 350's are set with the switch in standby mode and stay on all the time, the slightest signal awakes them.

Randy, you've got an older model of EP 350. The new ones don't have the standby/auto–wake feature. They do have a trigger, but in my experience it doesn't work particularly well.
