Anybody know what those small Hummers I keep seeing on the street are?

I see 2010 as the last year that Hummers were made that are for sale on the web. I see H1, H2, H3, H3T and some off the wall ones, but there are no pictures of what seems to be a half sized H3. Not talking about the electric one. Yikes! That thing is so tiny. Nor talking about the little kids models.

I saw one yesterday and it seems the back 2 windows are taller than they are wide.

And no, I'm not seeing pink elephants, either.

Maybe it's not a Hummer. Just something that looks like one.

Those are cinder blocks on end. You should move them out of the street.

Not Sure Cat. I thought the H3 (or was it the H3X) was thier smallest model.

Also, I'm not sure why (in my personal opinion only) why anyone would want a Hummer these days.

The original demands respect for it's off road capabilities & crazy huge size but now they are not much more than a cosmetically refined memory of the Hummer body shape on a Chevy Colorado frame.

They still have very good clearance (except the reduction of the once famous approach and departure angles) but otherwise have lost much of the off-road capability and ruggedness of the original. A stock Jeep, Landrover or even the older VW Touaregs will kick it's butt off-road. Others as well.

If off-road capabilities are not an issue anyways, then there are still many more SUVs that beat it in value for things like ride, mileage, comfort, etc.

Still, if you like it, you like it. I always say, it's what makes you happy that counts. Don't let me discourage you. I was just discussing my personal opinion for the sake of discussion and on the super slim chance you even care for my personal advice. No offense taken if you do not.

I thought they killed the Hummer brand.

The last Hummer was made in 2010 as far as I can find info on it.

Yes, there are better cars out there than the Hummer, but I always wanted one, and I don't care to go off road. One of those with the wheels/tires that are the low profile variety would be ok too, if it didn't cut down in gas mileage. Definitely won't be going off road with those.

I'm looking for a winter mudder: Hummer (maybe not low profile tires then)
and a Summer sport: Corvette

So far, everyone I've talked to that has a friend or relative with a Hummer H3 has this to say about it:
1) Smooth ride.
2) Better gas mileage than some vans, pickups and SUV's.
3) A good vehicle.
4) Not difficult to work on. Unlike Chrysler.
5) Quiet ride.

FYI: The Consumer Reports book for 2012-2013 only has this to say about Hummers: Don't buy a 2006 H3.

2006 was the first year for the H3. It had a 3.5-liter engine, which was later upgraded to a 3.7-liter for better overall performance. 2008 was first year for rear backup camera, with improvements for it in 2009.

I'd prefer to buy a 2009 or 2010 for under $25,000. I'd prefer one that has most of the creature amenities, like heated seats, premium sound, key-less start. New looking inside and out. Prefer black.

I found a white 2009 locally on Craig's List. It was white with 22,000 something miles. Garaged, for around the $25k price. I sent an e-mail, but never was contacted. White though for a winter car seems like it would be harder to see in the snow.

Sometime this year, I might want to buy one of the new game systems PS4 or XBox. Not sure which one to get. I don't care for first person shooter games, at all. The last machine I had was the Super-Nintendo. Played a lot of Super Mario, Car racing, Final Fantasy, Zelda. Later played stuff like Sonic with my son when I bought other game systems for him. I'd probably hate sports games because I'm not a sports fan.

Also, don't know how hard it would be to have the game machines in the room behind the TV where all of the other equipment is. Some sort of wireless controllers may work for me there.

The wireless controllers for both systems are pretty powerful. Unless the console is really isolated, they should work fine.

Re. the H3. If you like them, go for it. My "If it makes you happy..." overrules my other advice.

We have a 2010 3.7L V5 for sale in our work parking lot. Although I'm know it's too far a drive for you, I asked Buddy a few questions on it in case it helps you decide on one in your own area.

He really likes it. Comfortable & smooth. Good in snow once he changed to decent tires, dealer tires were crappy in snow. He didn't like the lack of window view space in the rear but that seems to be a trend with a lot of vehicles these days. I've rented cars that were worse. He had his auto-transmission replaced under warranty but he did some research and he seemed to be a "one-of." This wasn't a trend.

He moved to the city so he feels he doesn't need an SUV anymore and wants better mileage. He gets about 16 - 18 Mpg on highway and 12-14 in town. (did the conversion for ya from those kilo-thingies.)

He says 2006-2010 need to go back in to get the hood inspected as a recall. Apparently, the clips that secure them down were coming loose and they were opening up in peoples faces.

He is asking 32,000 for his, fully loaded and in good condition. I'd say excellent condition but the carpets look like everyone's carpets around here, damaged by the salt they put on the roads and sidewalks in the winter. There is also a few food stains from his kids.

I hope that helps. I was a little harsh on them in my first post but that's only because I spent years winching Hn idiots off the trails who had no clue what they were doing but thought they could impress thier friends/girlfriends with thier 'not-so-invincible' trucks.

But if I can just ask one thing...... Please, please please, don't put low profile tires on it!!! I'm begging you!
