A loooong while back some regulars around here (I used to be one of those guys) put together some mix cds and shared them with others on the board. It was a great way to get exposed to music you may not regularly listen to.

The only criteria for what could (should?) be on any of the cd's was that the SQ should be top notch, and it'd be music that's not top 40 that we'd all already heard.

I'd love to try it again. Though I'm guessing many of the young whipper-snappers around here don't know what CD's are. How about throwing our mixes into a folder on dropbox and sharing them?

I'm all for it, even though people may already be overexposed to the bands I listen to.

Well, it may just be the two of us, but I'll start to put together a selection of tracks.

When I can, I'll supply wav or flac files. There may be some tracks where that won't be possible though.

Doesn't need to be obscure, just not the stuff you'll hear on the radio 100x per day.

My only caution would be the ... iffyness? of putting it on dropbox rather than on mix CDs.

How's one any less/more iffy than the other? It won't be a publicly open dropbox folder. Just shared with a few people who participate. I'll also simply upload a single zip file named "axiom-mix.zip" or something similar - not individual tracks.

All that said, I'm a-ok with making and mailing cd's if that's what people would rather do. (Soooo 20th century!) LOL

Someone here put one together last year. I made a cd from it and listened to it a lot at first. It introduced me to Robyn. I've bought one of her cd's because of that sampling.

I didn't get to play last time, so I'm in! I'm in! And I promise it won't be all from the 80's....... LOL.
