I wondered who would catch that. My original edit said "I spooted this when I was oot and aboot," but then I thought that was too obvious.

We had some visitors from Denmark last week who made fun of the Canadian accent so it was on my mind and I threw it in to see if anyone would spot it. Although, I'd argue we don't actually talk like that here in the Maritimes. We have our own accent. Probably equally funny. Of course, we make fun of the big variety of US accents, but just when your not looking.

Those of us who know you better know its just the first one. By the way, the horns look wind swept in that shot. Were you driving around in your convertible just before they took that one?

Hey all, I've been offline for a few months and all kinds of fun stuff stuff has happened:
- M100 is out
- DSP is demystified (well I still don't really get it, but if Chris and Andrew agree it must be good)
- ADA's are causing tears - in a good way
- Audyssey MutliEQ gets a good 'how to' guide
...and I'm just skimming so far! Thanks for keeping it interesting and fun to come back to.

Since this is the beer thread, I was introduced to an amazing booze store in Burlington VT a few weeks ago. They had beer, wine and cider from all over the world - I could have spent a day in there perusing the racks and reading the labels. I'll post a link later if I can find their web page.

I have learned I really like rye beers. Tried this Hop Rod from California and quite enjoyed it. Also bought a great strong Belgian amber from this store, but did not have the foresight to write down the name.

Cheers all!

I've had Bear Republic's Racer 5 and Red Rocket Ale and really liked both. I'll keep my eye out for the Hop Rod.

Hop Rod?

I think I'll make my own beer and call it "Rowdy Roddy Pilsner".

Then obviously your slogan would have to be,

"I have come here to chew bubblegum and drink beer...
and I'm all out of bubblegum."

Edit:
Man! That was a terrible movie. But I'll admit, I can't stop watching it if I stumble across it on TV.
The clip for those who 'pretend' never to have watched it.

Let's talk about beer.

This evening I had a bottle of Three Head Brewing Loopy Oatmeal Red Ale. It's 6.6%abv, 64ibu and is contract brewed in New York. I really like it. Biscuity caramel malts and a good amount of earthy hops give it a nicely rounded, full flavor. Definitely worth a try if you can find it.

This post could either go in the beer or woodworking thread. I'm using a very special beer as motivation to finish a simple project. It's damned hot and humid outside, so I have to trick myself into it.

Waiting in my fridge is a 22oz bottle of Two Beers Ascension Triple IPA. Before my wife took the kids to CA for a week, we discussed building a boat rack in the back yard to hold our canoe and kayak off the ground. It will be a simple frame made from 4x4 posts set in pre-formed concrete footers, and I'll have a couple rectangles of 2x4s around the posts, one about a foot off the ground for the kayak and another a couple feet above it for the canoe.

With any luck, I'll be drinking that beer in a few hours. smile
