If you have one of the latest LFR models, the 880 or the smaller 660, neither of those have the angled back. In that case, toe-in is extremely important, because if the speakers are just pointing straight, then the reflection from behind it won't escape and will just bounce around behind it. So make sure that you toe the speakers in towards the listening position to get a nice seamless soundstage.

Ian Colquhoun: In follow up to Andrew's discussion of the placement of the speaker in a room for an LFR1100 or 660 or 880, I thought I'd get into a bit about how the electronics work.

This particular DSP is the top-of-line pre-amp model of DSP (there is now going to be four models)...

Boy, do I need to build a room! Finally, understanding of what it means when people shout "Get a Room!" at me!

I'm actually kind of melancholy about the whole thing. It's great to see so much work and research come to fruition, and I know the new speakers and DSP's will make lots of people happy. But it's kind of harsh knowing that I'll probably never be one of them.

I'm very happy about this news. I've kinda wanted the 1100s, but they really are too big for any room I'm likely to have. So the LFR-880s are much more in line with what I need, maybe even 660s.

I'll still probably get the top-of-the-line DSP, because I like XLR jacks.

I'm in the same boat Chris. I actually had to 'down grade' from M80s to M60s due to a lack of space in my HT. The 660's might just be the perfect compromise for my situation.

Note that the above video and further details on the new speakers and processors are in today's Newletter .

Out of curiosity, has much listening been done with an 880 or 660 as a center channel?

I apologize if I missed it somewhere.
