Did you happen to read Batpig's post at AVS? Quite informative summery of the new Denon AVR's. Sounds like the X4000 is a dandy, leaving little reason to spring the extra cash for the 4520. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1465528/the-of...ners-thread-faq

You rule! I was just about to pick one of these up for $999. I'm in BC, but Bay Bloor ships, so FS should price match here too. Will find out tomorrow. Was originally planning on this, but I think the Denon wins for $100 more: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/p...b152b52abc1en02

I am going to go for the Denon AVR-X4000 as well. Been sitting on the fence for over a year trying to decide on a new AVR.

Just thought I'd mention...FS is asking $999 for the X4000, I've seen this price at a couple of other places too. Bay Bloor Radio has it at $899 so any local competitor should at least match that price. If you check FS's policy, they will beat any competitors price by 10% of the difference, not by the list price, so ie you'll be looking at $888 or so.

Future Shop is sold out everywhere though. I just tried that today and they checked and saw every store is sold out cross-country. I ended up picking it up at Atlas Audio/Video Unlimited in Victoria for $950. (They matched approximately what it would cost me to get it shipped from Bay Bloor.) Got the last one. I'm not going to quibble about the $50, since it's a steal either way.
