A few weeks ago Doug Schneider from SoundStage came to Axiom with a professional video crew from Ottawa and we spent a day shooting footage around the factory. They have completed all the editing now to get down to a reasonable length. You can check out the final product here:

We would like to extend a big thanks to everyone from SoundStage for such an amazing job on the video. Doug is really putting in the effort to keep SoundStage at the forefront of quality in Audio Publication.

Your thoughts on the video would be appreciated.

i like this video, with a small exception: while it's possible to watch it in 1080p, the full screen viewing button does not work and the window stays minimized.

This is a common issue with embedded YouTube videos. If you click the little YouTube icon at the bottom of the screen it will open the video directly on YouTube. You can then maximize the screen. smile

Extremely well done. This too exudes the passion that has sustained Axiom from the start.

Nice little bit of background on Axiom's roots with Ian. Can't have enough footage of the M100s smile And yes, you CAN quantify what is good and what is bad in sound reproduction.

Wonderful video. Really captures the spirit of the people and the place.

Ian, I loved your articulation of the goal at the end. You've been extremely successful for me.

Can't wait to see you all again for the 35th Anniversary. (nudge, nudge).

Oh, Sorry. I thought it was in response to my umpteenth nudge.

The Axiom 30th Anniversary gave me some of the most joyful moments of my life, and I'm all-in for the 35th in 2015. Tom, I hope you will come or that we will find another way to get together, as I consistently enjoy and appreciate your posts.

Hi Tom,

It was in response to your nudge. I was talking to Vicki at Lumina the other day and we might be able to have the entire resort just for us that weekend. It will probably depend on how many of us there are but it sounds like it good be quite a few for 2015.

I have relatives in Ottawa (they've been thru the factory with me a couple of years ago) that I can perhaps use as a reason to go to Ontario for a visit. Since they are coming out here this summer, it will be our turn to go down there.

I wonder if they would miss me for that weekend?...

Cool, more coercion tactics, ha!

They'll be here in as couple of weeks after taking the Rocky Mountaineer Train from Calgary to Vancouver & popping over here to VR Island afterwards. I can start the pressure then...

Of course I'd like to do it again, but we can we do it with different people this time? I'll send Lampy as my surrogate. And you?

I hadn't really considered driving, but it's only about 2,500 miles. In that context, stopping by to pick up CV is easy.

No luggage rack, though.

Things-you-made-me-learn-today: It appears that Axiom, Toronto and Montreal are all SOUTH of Seattle. Hunh.

Fred, I'm really eager to see you again!

I'm glad Tom's flying. At least this way, he won't have to hose CV down when he inevitably soils himself up there.

I found the invitation. I'm impressed - it was very sneaky of her to put the personalized part to you in Japanese so that only you could read it. Well, I'm sure Charles could read it also. Maybe she wanted him to join us at the homecoming as well?

This began as IAN"S thread to introduce the Soundstage video.

It was hijacked before the end of the first page!

How egalitarian is that?!?!

Nobody asked, but hey - I'd love to do this again. As long as we don't have to listen to Hotel California another 3,508 times.

Maybe we could consider skipping the factory altogether and just meet at Ian's dock and drink for 3 days.

This is great. Only disappointment is not having a few words from Brent and Noreen. They are so effective at interacting with customers. Both are an absolute joy to deal with. As Ian said, the staff is everything.

Discussed with the wife today a trip in Sep next year to Dwight. We have it marked on our calendar.

Perhaps we'll bring along some in-laws that live in Ontario for a weekend at the lake that hopefully may turn into customers, ha!

Yup, it wasn't as easy as it used to be.

We just renewed ours for 10 years - probably will be our final ones...

JP, I think Mark is angling for a hug too.

If it makes you feel any better Mark, I have no idea who that dude is either.

The guy is Giorgio Tsoukalos, producer of the TV show Ancient Aliens. Seems like everytime a question comes up on Ancient Aliens that asks if it is possible that ancient aliens were responsible for something, his unabashed stock answers are 1) Yes, it is, and 2) Well, of COURSE it is!

This guy is as single-minded focused as that idiot PR guy that Saddam Hussein was using on TV who kept saying everything is fine and we are kicking the American's butts as tanks U.S. tanks were rolling down the street towards him in the background.

Peter, I'm sorry. I meant to ask this yesterday. Did you inadvertently omit "got" before "put," or "me" before "in?"

Your answer will lead to other questions, like, "Why did this happen?," or "To whom should we assign blame?"

Your clarification will be as greatly appreciated as it will be telling.

Thank you.

She put me in charge of the passports. She was saddled with the job last time we all went to Canada (BC) in 2006. The good news is, only the kids passports need renewing. The bad news is, since they're under 16, it must be done in person. frown

Can't you leave the kids with Ray and pick them up on the way home?

Saddly, I'm not 100% sure I'm going. I really want to but I'm not sure it's in the cards. My wife and I don't travel nearly enough and although it should be a simple thing to convince her she would enjoy such a beautiful area, she still see it as an expensive "me only" trip.

I can understand that. She would rather we spend the cash on a trip where the total focus is for both of us and that does make sense. I just need to show her more pictures of all the Muskoka beauty as it is exactly the type of outdoor oriented place we like to vacation in.

The last one turned out to be "fated", if I believed in that sort of thing. I ended up having to go to a conference in super nearby Deerhurst just two days after the date of the Axiom gathering. I couldn't believe it when I looked at Google Maps just for fun and the two places were side by side.

Don't count me out yet though. I might have to stay across the lake at Shenia's if the bookings fill up though. That would be a shame.

Hi Murph,

You might want to consider coming earlier in the week; perhaps the Monday before. That way you have most of the time with just the two of you in one of the most beautiful areas of Canada with the get together just being a few days at the end.

I paid for the deposit for 4 Adults today.

Actually 2 of us are retired pilots so perhaps we should get the 'Children Rates', ha!

I know she would enjoy it there for sure. In fact, she may never leave. So I'm working on it. (The trip part, not the never leaving, heheheh.)

Perhaps a float plane for the weekend would be a good idea. That will be at least 3 of us pilots that can take people on sightseeing flights.

Are the deposits refundable? i did not see any mention one way or the other.

I ask due to time frame involved. Incase something comes up between now and then.

We just renewed our son's passport and both parents were NOT required to be there.
However, since he was going to Ecuador without either of us, we had to get notarized letters (for him to go and come back with another adult) with both of us signing at the same time.

It's been a decade since I last sat 'up front' so I don't think that I would have many takers to go flying with me.

Ian. Any plans for on ceiling or in ceiling speakers for use with atmos.??Perhaps something wireless . Small digital amps and have the power connections daisy chained.
