Do the HK AV7200s have "Video Conversion of Composite to S-Video and/or to Component, with on-screen display" capability? If not, what are the disadvantages of not having this feature?
(2) What are the major differences between Denon 3803 and HK7200? My system will be used 95% for music.
My M60 has arrived and is waiting to be driven! Thanks

i usually prefer Denon to others, but both Denon and HK are two favorite choices. Get the one with the options that suit you most is really what it comes down to.

kay,

the disadvantage to not having the video up-conversion:
if your monitor accepts component video and you have the up conversion, you can route all your video sources through the receiver and use it to switch sources - as opposed to having to switch both the receiver and the televsion - select dvd on receiver, select video 2 or 3 or 4 on television. With the up conversion, all the video signals are piped out the component out of the receiver and into the component in on the monitor leaving you with one less remote to worry about.

The up-conversion doesn't do anything to enhance the signal, it only converts the exisiting signal to component-like signal - you won't gain any video quality and you won't lose any either.

hope this helps

Another difference is, is that the HK will have more "real world" power. The Denon will have more than enough, but the HK will be a bit beefier.

If you get into multi-channel music, I think the HK would be a better fit with Axioms because of the triple-crossover feature.

The -3db points of the QS surround speakers and VP center speakers are higher than most of the other standard speakers in the Axiom line. With the triple crossover feature you can cross the mains, center, and surrounds at more optimum points.
