It's been a couple months since the M22ti's have arrived. Here's the setup:
M22ti (Factory outlet version) I looked hard and couldn't find a blemish.
Hsu Research VTF-2 Powered Sub-Woofer 150w
Onkyo TX-DS656 Audio Video Control Receiver
B&K Components ST-202 Power Ampliphier 200w

This puppy has some punch. When my buddies give a listen to this speaker combo for around $900 (US), they are taken back. For my taste the M22's are a bit congested in the upper mid-range. I am used to my old Spica's who were top dog in that arena. (I could get that back for a couple grand.)
Push play on the 300 CD jukebox and rock on. It's love baby, you can't fight it.
Cheers

Hi Mr. Mo,

Interesting to read your comparison of M22ti's with the Spicas. I haven't heard a pair of the latter for 15 years or so. My recollection is that the Spicas had a somewhat elevated upper treble that gave them exaggerated "detail", which was impressive on first hearing but it wasn't accurate. The M22ti's, I agree, deliver wonderful sound for the money, but I'm not sure that "congested" is the adjective I'd use. I think they're extremely linear throughout their range--not without faults--but awfully good.

Did you actually take the time to load and key in the name of all 300 CDs in your CD jukebox? My collection is out of control and I've thought of getting one of these, but I wonder if I'd have the patience to keep track of everything in the changer.

Alan,

Thanks for the note. Listening to a high-hat on the Spica's was very hissy, not so with the axiom.

I have my music in a PC database and have titled some of the songs. I picked up a black keyboard with a P/S 2 connector and keep it on the player. The Sony lets you daisy chain three units together for 900 CD's. The X-fade feature allows a song on unit 1 to fade while another song on unit 2 queues up.
I just received this URL for a product that controls playlists.

If I pick one up, I'll let you know how it works.

Regards,

MrMo

Thanks for the info. The "hissy" high-hat correlates with my recollection of the Spica's sound.
