No. I just couldn't pass up the price to step up to 7.1 with IIx. If it was a grand I would have passed. I'll still end up picking up a separate amp down the road. I figure I'll be further ahead for now as I can sell my sony receiver and only end up about 450 out of pocket.

Travis, that's a terrific price for the 3805(don't forget about $60 more for the Denon microphone)and in my view you are better off than with your separate amp idea.

Great price on the 3805!!! Are you related to the salesman? .

I considered separates, but finally opted for the Denon 3803. Excellent feature set for the price (less expensive than mst quality pre.pros and generally more features/flexibility). The 3803 can act as a pre/pro and I can add a big honkin' amp later if I feel the urge to sepnd mpore money . All in all, a nice compromise. You will be happy with the 3805.

The bluejeans cables are exactly what I got. Get them a little longer than you think you need, however, as you may want the amp (it's really heavy) to go on the bottom shelf, and the receiver or pre/pro on an upper shelf.

I'd agree with Ray and John, that's a steal for a 3805. IMO that's the best way to go as it will give you a tonne of power and you can always add an external amp in the future if you wish. It has one of the best feature sets of any receiver out there (esp. with video up-conversion, we need a drool icon) and I feel it's head-and-shoulders above any $2000+ pre/pro available. I'd buy this receiver in a second if I had the cashola.

Thanks guys, that makes buyers remorse a little easier. LOL
It doesn't hurt that I am the finance manager at a Chevy store and I've sold him a few cars and was able to call in a couple favors to help him with financing. I am like a kid waiting for Christmas right now. I don't think I will be able to sleep for a couple days.
