I am considering an Outlaw 755 to drive M80s (4ohm) up front, M60s (8ohm) as rears, and a VP150 (6ohm) as the center. Outlaw is telling me that the 755 will have no problem handling the mismatched impedance of this configuration. Is anyone on the board running Outlaw equipment with a similar mismatch of impedance?

Thanks,

CAV104 / Jim

Jim, I don't think that there should be any concern about "mismatch", because there's no good reason that the various speakers in a system need to be matched in their impedance. The 755 is one of the many amps that would have no problem with the M80s and the other speakers would simply be a bit easier load.

There are 5 completely separate 200W amplifiers inside of the 755. There is no common connection betwen channels except for the power supply driving them.

So, that is a long away of saying "don't worry about it".

I've been considering an amp as well, be sure to post a review for us.

Thanks,

Jim,

I have the Outlaw 755 and M200's, these amps are very clean and will drive the Axioms without any problems. I have the VP150, QS8's, klipsch kg4.2 and pair of home brew 4 Ohm mains.I plan on buying the M80's in the next few weeks to timbre match my system. I'm told that Outlaw and ATI use the same assembly line. (If that matters)...

For the price of the 755, you can't go wrong. I would buy it again. I own Linn and Aragon gear and I feel cheated, it's good gear but expensive and not worth the LOFTY price tag.

If you decide to get the 755, be prepared for some heavy lifting.

Good luck! Let us know what you decide.

Tom

Thank you gentlemen for your input. I will be purchasing the 755, m80s and vp150 sometime in August when we settle into the new house in West Palm. I'll let you know how it works out.

Thanks again,

CAV014 / Jim

What are you going to use for a preamp? Just curious...

Tom,

Thanks for the PM. Tried to respond, not sure if you received it.
